Voicemail only extension - BLF to flash when voicemail

We have set up some voicemail only extensions and it would be good if 3CX could be configured to have a BLF key that flashes when there is a voicemail in that mailbox.

I'm struggling to find a way to get this to work without configuring voicemails to email.

The BLF keys represent the activity of an extension that monitors whether the user is busy or not.

The option to set a BLF key to indicate that there is a voicemail to an
extension is not doable from the dashboard of the PBX

Please note that some IP phones have an indicator that shows if the extension has a voicemail.

So there is no way for user 1 phone or the webclient to show an extension that is only used for voicemail when it has a voicemail that needs listening to?

The vmail indicator will show only on the extension IP Phone or webclient that is provisioned/logged into the extension with the vmail.

Shame because the NEC phone system that we are moving from allows users to configure BLFs that flash when that extension or voicemail box has an alert or something waiting.

I think i've found a way to get round this. Unfortunately 3CX don't have the Share Voicemail Status like Yeastar have here - https://help.yeastar.com/en/s-series/topic/manage-voicemail-messages-centrally.html - it would be great for them to bring this in though especially for our schools with multiple voicemail only extensions.

Anyway, the only way i've got around the initial issue is to add the extensions of the voicemail only extensions to the phone as additional SIP lines via the web ui of the phone. Then configure the BLFs to the following:

Type: Memory Key
Name: BLF name
Value: The voicemail number
Subtype: Voice Mail
Line: The SIP line for that extension

This will make the phone and BLF flash when there are unread voicemails. This has been configured on a Fanvil phone.
