Solved Voicemail Transcription for v16 Beta 1

How can we test the new Google Cloud Speech API for Voicemail Transcription in v16 Beta 1?

I have in production v15.5 Professional, which of course I can't use to test this.

I downloaded the Linux ISO of v16 Beta 1 but since I only have a standard free license for this, I am unable to enable the Voice Transcription feature as it states in the following link. https://www.3cx.com/docs/voicemail-transcription/

I surely can't be expected buy another pro license just to enable this feature on a beta version for the purpose of testing?

I would appreciate any help with enabling this feature for testing!

You don't, and there really isn't anything to test. There's been zero complaints about the Speech integration as far as not working. There's plenty of information out there as far as the accuracy and frankly there really isn't another option as far as 3CX goes. When v16 is released you just get yourself a speech API key and then input it after upgrading.

That's good to hear. I am well aware that the google API is pretty accurate with transcriptions, but just wanted to test the 3CX integration since this API is new in v16.

I will be looking forward to the release of v16.

The Google site for securing a key seems to have changed substantially from the 3CX support article. Is there a plan to update the instructions? I guess I'm the first one who couldn't get it to work.

Hello @UnConundrum

I just followed the guide and i only detected a couple of words being different but the process is the same. Now the Cloud Speech API is called Cloud Speech to text API and the part when you restrict the key with the IP address is slightly different but the guide is pretty accurate. I will see if it can be updated further.
