Hey all, New to 3CX and have been playing around with it all weekend. Fired up an amazon lightsail and setup an SBC connector and a VVX 500 phone with 5.6 firmware and using voip.ms with the Canada pre defined settings. Everything works great when calling the main number. IVR works, extensions forward to any of the 8 phones. Seems to work awesome. The only odd issue I am having is I am having outbound intermittent busy signals. Sometimes it works and sometimes I just get a fast busy. Was wondering how I troubleshoot these issues with the server being in the cloud. Do I need to putty in and go to a certain directory and look at logs?

Any settings I should look at? I am coming off a sipxcom solution and we had to have a pretty aggressive keep alive time set on the trunk for it to keep an active connection with voip.ms but I don't see any detailed settings like that for the trunk. Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks,

J

Take a look at the 3cx logs and see the reason for the busy signal.

Verbose logs should give some additional information as @craigreilly said. According to what you find, you might want to check how many simultaneous calls your voip.ms account is capable of, just in case the busy signal is from them

Thanks guys, Can you tell me where I see those? I don't see anything from the web interface so I assume I have to putty into the server? I have been using voip.ms for years on the older sipxcom system and never had an issue with simultaneous calls and when this happens voip.ms shows no activity. It is like the registration has dropped because the failover from voip.ms kicks in. Thanks again!

From your 3CX management console:

Click activity log > Settings > Verbose

This will generate rich logs which can give you some insight as to what is going on. Put it back on low when you are done analyzing to avoid generating extra load on your machine.

More Advanced approach: From the same menu you can also run captures and analyze them with wireshark if you are familiar with it, in case the logs don't provide enough useful information

I don't have the management console. I only have access to the web interface which only has call logs. Can I use the management console remotely when it is hosted in AWS?

you always have MC, when you installed your 3cx at the end you receive a congratulation windows with all needed informations , credentials to log admin on MC and FQDN url to reach the 3CX.

LOL - Thanks! This entire time I was looking for it on the left hand side. Never noticed it was on the main dashboard and not on the menu on the left. I didn't spend much time on that screen and dove right into configuring everything. Will take a look and know what I see. Thanks!

Thanks all...think I figured it out. I swore I stopped my old system from registering with the voip.ms account but i checked it again and it was still enabled so the old phone system was stealing the registration. Everything seems to be running great now.

Glad it was resolved!
