Hi,

Have a problem trying to add a Yealink W52P base with some DECT handsets to a clients hosted 3CX. I'm trying to provision them with Direct SIP (STUN) method but running into a problem.

I've updated to the latest firmware (25.80.0.28) and factory reset but every time it restarts after provisioning the url is changed from the provisioning link I input to something else. It appears to restart another couple of times and at that point I'm unable to login as the default username and password won't work. I'm wondering, seeing as the client purchased the equipment from their previous provider, if there's some weird proprietary firmware on there? I'd have thought updating the firmware from Yealink and factory reset would rectify this? Can anyone shed any light?

Cheers!

Hi Scott,

The device was probably entered into Yealink's RPS by the previous owner if I had to take a guess.

When the device starts up, it checks with Yealink first and sees the previous owners provisioning link.

It will then pull that configuration, overwriting yours (most likely based on your description).

I believe you have to either contact the previous owner to remove it, or contact Yealink support and ask them for help to resolve this.

Thanks John. Makes perfect sense. I presume I'll need to get the MAC address removed from their server, which will be akin to pulling teeth!

Think I'll recommend they purchase a new one.

I mean you could give Yealink a shot, you never know.

But a new one of course would not have such woes.
