What causes welcome emails to come like this? No link to set password, no QR code
How do i resolve this?


It is a 3cx pro 4SC.

Hi XXX,

Welcome to XXX This email contains important information about your extension and getting started. For more tips and how-to’s take a look at Your Quick Reference Guide.

Your extension details

  • Your extension number is "XXX"
  • Your extension PIN is "XXXX". Check your voicemail from your deskphone by dialling 999 and entering your PIN.
  • Your Click2Meet link is: FQDN. Share this link with your customers and colleagues to initiate an ad hoc web meeting.
  • Your Click2Talk link is: FQDN. Share this link with your customers and colleagues to initiate a chat or a call on the spot.
Your Communications Dashboard - The Web Client

The Web Client is your communications hub. From here, you can call, chat, video conference and more in just a few clicks.

  • If in the office go to FQDN
    • Login using XXX
    • Your password is
  • Retrieve your voicemail by clicking on the Voicemail option.
  • Call numbers from web pages with the Click2Call extension.

  1. Download the iOS or Android App.
  2. Open your Web Client, click on your avatar and "Scan QR Code" to provision your extension. Alternatively, you can scan the QR code attached to this email.
 
Did you change something on the template? Delete your custom template and try again.
 
I am not using a custom template

@Kingpin_Ke back in April of 2023 we made numerous steps forward with security. You can read the initial Blog about this for more details.

In your case, I agree with @bitn2 - looks like you are using a custom template for your Welcome Emails. Just delete this and use the default template and everything will work properly. There will be a link in the default welcome email to setup a password. The QR code is no longer included in the welcome email, this can be found in the web client after the initial login.
 
Okay. So if I lear the custom template and leave it blank and click ok, 3cx will automatically use the default template?

You will need to go into the Parameters and delete: MAILTEMPLATE_EXTWELCOME_CUSTOM After this has been deleted you will need to restart system services. All should work fine after this! :cool:
