What device is needed to connect spotify playlist to the on hold music?

One of my client is running 3cx on a virtual server. It is a psyhical server onsite. Is it possible to use the server audio input for the spotify music input? Or is there a specail equipment needed?

Thank you.. so not possible.. that is the answer.. I'll let my client know.. This is not good because I work with mitel and cisco and both can do that. Almost all major brand have that setup..

I've not followed the links above to previous threads, but I can say that 3CX at one time had this feature. Unfortunately, we were told the processing power required to transcode the live audio stream was deemed excessive and the feature was removed.

I would have thought giving the customer the option to do it would be reasonable, but I suspect too many people complained about performance issues and 3CX decided better to remove the feature than to take a lot of abuse for issues caused by the feature.

If the price difference between Cisco/Mitel and 3CX is worth it, then they can have their Spotify MOH back no problem!
