Hi, I have DID number with AVOXI and they will forward to SIP I provide them. The question is what is my 3cx sip?
Is it extension like sip:[email protected]3cx.es
Is it did number like sip:[email protected]3cx.es
or simply sip:xxxxx.my3cx.es?

Are you talking about receiving a direct SIP call? If so, and you have enabled it, then they would send to your extension, that is what 3CX will process on.

Well I am not sure if direct SIP call bbut lets assume yes. instructions say - In the management console, go to “Settings” > “Network” > “FQDN” > “Settings for Direct SIP Calls”. in my settings I dont have "Network". So i cant change anything.
In my settings i see this:

Email

Security

Updates

WordPress Webmeeting Integration

CRM Integration

Hotel Services

General

Timezone, Office Hours & Holidays

Music on Hold

System Prompts

Voicemail

Conferencing

Call Parking

Phone / App Options

E164 Processing

Blacklisted Numbers

CDR

Dial Codes

Fax Server

Ok got it! :) so because i am using free 3cx hosting I cant edit direct sip. So if i host lets say with amazon aws then I woulkd be able to receive incoming calls to extension?

Provided you configure things per the direct SIP article I listed then yes.

Just to be 100% sure before I move 3cx pbx to amazon aws.
My goal here is to receive incoming calls on my IP phone on extension 40. (3cx pbx)
I have set up ip phone, its shows green its online. I am using IP phone with Provisioning Method "direct SIP" (STUN remote). I can succesfully call out with outgoing rule using twilio sip trunk.
I have asked avoxi to forward did number to sip:[email protected]3cx.es. When I call number I hear voicemail and support at avoxi says that they see that calls are succesfully forwarded. So I cant understand what I am doing wrong. why it goes to voicemail? From this forum thread I assume I have to enable direct SIP? Is that correct? Or maybe Iam missing something else?

It sounds as if you understand. The alternative might be to do direct SIP to your set, if that location uses a static IP or, has a URL, or you use a DDNS service. This , of course requires that any local firewall , and the set options, allow this.

So it's hitting 3CX voicemail? If you see the call in the call log in 3CX this is no longer a direct SIP issue, it's a call routing issue. Looking at that activity log will tell you what is happening.

Actually, for some reason its hitting not 3cx voicemail but avoxi voicemail. But I can see calls logs..when i forward to sip:xxx.my3cx.es i get:

Date/TimeFromToTalking
12/31/2020 1:40:27 PMPBXEndCallNot Answered

but when I do forward to extension [email protected]3cx.es I get:

12/31/2020 11:40:05 AM+34XXXXXXXXX:avoxi (+34XXXXXXXXX)Name Surname (40)Not Answered

The guy from avoxi said that its hitting avoxi voicemail because it doesnt route in 3cx or something like that. IP Phone with extension 40 did not ring but its connected and online. works for calling out with twilio trunk. Inbound rule is set up for did number associated with avoxi sip trunk.

I have moved to hosted server with amazon aws and I was able to enable direct sip in Networking settings. I couldnt figure out where to edit DNS SRV Records to Receive Direct SIP Calls. Maybe thats why i failed I have no clue.
So I sort of gave up and will look into some other virtual pbx like phone.systems which seems are easier to use.

So if you've never done direct SIP before you need to learn to crawl before you can walk and then run. Be sure you followed the guide because I did and it took me less than 5 minutes. If you are using the 3CX FQDN you don't need to do anything with DNS, it's already handled for you. You simply need to check the box on the network page using the same 3CX FQDN. Then you need to go to the options tab of your extension and put in your SIP ID. If you are using extension 40 in 3CX, put 40 in the SIP ID and save it. Then take a soft phone (I like MicroSIP) and try calling [email protected]3cx.es and see if it works (it should). Then try setting up the forwarding

Ok. I will try again tomorrow and I will update if it worked. Thank you for helping me, its all new to me.

ok as you suggested I have I created extension 10 and gave it SIP ID. (direct SIP enabled) Then I have added IP phone and provisioned it. It was fine for a while and then it turned red with warning Fw version 1.0.7.6 not suported. Then I go upgrade firmware and I see that I have device version 1.0.7.6 which IS latest version (i have checked on official web). I click "+ Firmware" and I get window:

GrandStream GXP16201.0.7.6 1.0.7.3Grandstream GXP-1620 FW: Maintenance release
where device firmware version is 1.0.7.6 and available version is 1.0.7.3. I follow steps but it doesnt upgrade or downgrade. But I can use this IP phone for calling out.

Then I go to extension 40 webclient and call extension 10. I get activity log entry: 01/02/2021 4:38:55 PM - [CM503003]: Call(C:45): Call to <sip:[email protected]3cx.es:0> has failed; Cause: 408 Request Timeout/INVITE from local.

So it rings but IP phone does not receive a call and it goes in extension 10 voicemail.
Just to test, I have installed Zoiper app for iphone and added SIP account with sip details for extension 10 and tested it. I have phoned from extension 40 webclient and it went to zoiper app and I could receive phone call to zoiper app.

The 3CX set Firmware site https://www.3cx.com/support/phone-firmwares/ would seem to suggest that the version tested, and supported, by 3CX is 1.0.7.3

It is always best to go with the version that 3CX supports, rather than downloading the latest version from the manufacturers site.

That may, or may not, have something to do with the issue.

Yes, I have realized that I have to downgrade, the question is how???????

Grandstream GXP's are not funny phones to play with firmware. Search on Granstream site

Since it's just one phone, the best thing to do is to web into the phone directly and upload the firmware downloaded from 3CX. But that really isn't necessary just yet because that's not the problem. You originally requested help with direct SIP and now you are adding more variables without having confirmed direct SIP is working.

You could have a wonky firewall, SIP alg enabled, or simply inbound SIP blocked if your provider offers VoIP or voice services off their equipment. To avoid muddying the waters further I recommend using only the web client or the apps for now as they won't be affected by any firewall issues. Then once you've verified everything is working as expected as far as call flow, direct SIP, etc, then you can tackle the problem of getting the GXP to work correctly.

I have followed all your instruction how to enable and set up direct SIP.
I just tested calling from PC softphone Zoiper from extension 40 to sip:[email protected]3cx.es which is set up on softphone Wave Light or iphone (extension 10) and I have received call to my mobile. So I assume direct SIP is set up correctly and working.
Then I deleted wave light and called again to sip:[email protected]3cx.es and since extension was not online it went to extension's voicemail.
Then I went and reset IP phone to factory setting. Went to extension added IP phone with Provisioning Method direct SIP (stun remote). Went back to IP phone, created account with Authentication details and in 3cx conole I am opnline (green), also ip phone shows iam connected. I can call out.
In 3cx console IIP phone red colour, not supported fw version. Then I try call from PC softphone Zoiper to sip:[email protected]3cx.es and it is the same as before...it called extension and went to extension voicemail...So I assume its IP phones fault. I have created new thread in forum "IP Phones" maybe someone will help me.

Ok then we will close this thread as the Direct SIP issue you posted originally has been solved.

As for the phone firmware you might have to get help from Grandstream because they phone my be refusing to downgrade for safety reasons or hardware incompatibility reasons.
