It's a cert for the server. The problem I always have is the default setting that restricts Yealink phones to their supported RSAs. Having to disable that setting to get a phone to auto configure is a pain. I've gone through the supported cert list and I have tried different Cert vendors but it seems like a lot of the cheap certs don't use the same root certificates that are supported by the phone, even though they call the product Comodo or whatever.
I'm looking for links to actual certificate products people have used successfully with Yealink phones.
For example I purchased a Comodo SSL certificate from namecheap before they rebranded to Sectigo. When I checked the cert it was issued by Comodo RSA which is on Yealinks supported cert list. But the phones would not provision without having to disable Only Accept Trusted Certificates in the phone first.
For a bigger client I didn't want to mess around with I spent the money on Digicert and it works perfectly.
I then tried a Comodo DV from The SSL store but they're issued by Sectigo RSA and its the same problem. Have to disable that setting before auto-configure will work.
All I want to do is buy certificates that aren't over priced that I know will work for provisioning Yealink phones without having to buy and try a bunch of different providers. All of these vendors have a bunch of different SSL products with prices all over the map. I'm guessing some use different Root Certificates, but they never describe which certs come with what.
