Looking to pick between these phones:

  1. Grandstream GS-GXP2170
  2. Yealink T41s
  3. Polycom VVX 250
I use the Poly VVX350 at work and I'm happy with it so I was thinking getting the 250 would be best but everywhere I read always points to Yealink. It seems like it's lacking features compared to the Grandstream though. All are the same price and I really don't know what to do. It's for casual home use so nothing mission-critical.

All

Add to the list Fanvil as these are the 3CX preferred phones.

List of support phones - https://www.3cx.com/sip-phones/

Being a home user phone, phone needs to support stun.

Why not use the 3CX softphone application, instead of a physical handset

Hi,

From a 3CX perspective you can use either of them and they should all be OK for a home phone.

The big question is, do you really need a desktop phone?

We use yealink for old minded company's
For new company's we use the webclient or webRTC.

Even a few companies just using the smartphone app.

A desktop phone no. But a physical phone yes.

This is also another option: Grandstream DP720, DP750 Handset & Base Bundle

All these phones are prime available and within 5$ of eachother.

What would you pick of these options?

Call quality / clarity matters the most (including a very good speakerphone)

Speakerphone is subjective. Call quality is going to be internet dependent, they should all be about the same on the hardware. If speakerphone is important, the DECT option is probably not the best choice

Those Grandstream are not supported.

Stick to supported devices, and avoid Grandstream as much as possible. There's a reason they are "compatible" and not "supported" or "preferred".

So would you go with the seemingly basic Yealink or the Poly?

Yealink for sure, or Gigaset.

The models of Grandstream you spoke of are DECT phones. Is that what you're looking for or you want regular deskphones?

Deskphone preferably. $150 CAD budget.

I have a Grandstream GS-GXP1760W that I was using for testing but people kept complaining the sound was very muffled coming through.

Yealink T5x, Polycom, Fanvil.

I'd go T54S. One of the best phones.

If Grandstream, go GXP21xx. Nothing els

The T54S is about 100$ over budget.

Is there anything I should know before buying the polycom? At work it works great but they dont use 3CX.

I personne have a gruge against Polycom from bad experiences but that's a long time ago.

You can look at the T3x series or the T4x series which is cheaper. Or go Fanvil X4U or X5U.
