Hi,

if 3CX DEV can increase how some console aspects works , this is not exhaustive , just few examples:

  1. Add ability to set time range in one shot for a week (not to have to do this day by day like for now)
  2. Add a way to modify time range without deleting existing one
  3. Add a button with delete file function everywhere file management is used in console (for audio files for holidays for example, for IVR....)
  4. Retablish IVR destination if no input within seconds to default value 0 instead of 1 to avoid unpleasant audio transitions with MOH starting for 1 second
  5. Retablish eye icon to reveal webclient password
Don't hesitate to add what you have in mind related to MC use.

No one else to complete this starting list? surely you have something in mind that could change to friendly use

I'll think about that/watch this thread ;)

in 1 and 2 I am on a personal level with you as I know the frustration this can cause.
3 I have no personal opinion but I understand what you say
4 no cant do as there is a reason for this min connect time of 1 second
5 for sure will not come back as it was before.

For the 3rd, it can be a mess if you just record often :')

For 5th, what is the reason @StefanW ? Is that about privacy ?

for 5th, one reason that is as you impersonate quickly a user.

@StefanW
Thanks for answers, to go deeper in 4, why was it working with 0s until v14, and upgraded pbx with IVR having this set previously are working fine with no bad audio transitions, but of course if you need to set something new in IVR this time setting is lost

as you even in v14 and below run in risk to lose the customers call as from play to transfer you have no "hold" timer, plus reports etc. Therefore it is enforced to be 1.

Change user's e-mail, put your e-mail, re-send, re-put user's e-mail :rolleyes:

leaves a nice trace at least in the system logs, mail server etc...
so "you" must then deal with miss-use of the customer's privacy...

Ok ,so as for technical reason this is forced setting to 1s , could you do some other changes for audio reason this time to avoid to hear 1 second of MOH during transitions, please don't ask me stupid action to re record MOH with 1second silence :p

On point 3 there may be an issue if the file you delete is also used anywhere else.

If you use the audio file on more than one place, and you now delete it you will then have orphaned audio prompts and that can become a mess

That's totally right @StefanW just saying !

Hi @JohnS_3CX ! So it will maybe need to automatically leave a blank wav if someone miss it. Or just user to be attentive

...Or just user to be attentive ... prevent delete if in use which is also a function which I have seen in other relations such as Exchange UM but then finding where it is been used, oh dear what a pain...

@StefanW

  2. Why all these small changes in MC are not included with PBX update to increase use?
  3. For audio files: This has no sense for me , when you give a useful name to your audio files risk to create orphan prompt is less than the mess created when there's a lot of file uploaded on pbx and you have no direct access to delete them, that's worst for me. Also wav files are consumming disk space, you have set everywhere in call records, in logs , a way to control or purge files to decrease lost disk space, but not for audio files, so strange.

@StefanW I see how shitty it can be so the point will be to do something automatic? Like when you delete an extension who has an Inbound Rule, the routing become "end call"

Hi @StefanW

another thing annoyingly in console to be checked , this is about limitations on file naming.

For example when in extension voicemail greeting message, you can't use audio file name with space or words linked with - or _ you need to specify .wav each time, in a field who receive wav file only, couldn't this be automaticly added or not asked ?

if you produce an audio file out of 3CX then file name has no matter , you can use what you want, why this limitation in console?

as we need to call it via HTTP and this becomes an issue and is a very small limitation which is okay in my personal opinion.

@StefanW

But this works fine with all format name i used, this is just in Console this limitation exist, so frustrating.

do you have some precisions on unanswered questions on #16

All this small points you not consider very important to solve are the same as when you have a small stone coming in your shoes, this is not so important that you can't walk, but each time your foot is on the ground it embarrasses or hurts. This is the same i feel when doing some settings in Console. Asking my self , are the DEV really using this to have it done like this?

All my remarks here are only based to be more efficient with no pain when management task or repetitive actions are needed.

I do not want to criticize in a sterile way, but in my opinion, the fact is that it is often in the details where lies the difference between products.
Have a good Day
