Just curious how everyone is setting up work from home out there with 3CX?
What's working well and what's not?
We started with the new extension deployed via GPO on our remote desktop services we were trying to go for simplicity where a user can just log in to the remote machine with a headset and just log in to 3cx and go. It worked at first, but as we scaled it users started experiencing long voice delays.
We ended up having users install the extension on their local computer and they have to minimize their remote desktops to answer a call and go back.
It's not ideal because we basically have to delete that extension if one of these users quits, but based on current circumstances it will have to do.
Unless someone out there has found a better way.

If the problems began as you've added more remote users, then it may be related to network capacity, at the server end. Be sure that the first choice Codec is not one that is processor intensive.

I didn't really think of codec, the server itself isn't really taxed all that cpu/memory wise, maybe a more compressed codec that's lower bandwidth will do the trick.

That didn't really work too well, I think maybe RDP is just not a good way to do it, I guess I was just more curious about how other people are doing it, I'm fine with them having to minimize to answer, and so are my users.

While lower bandwidth codecs (obviously) don't require as much bandwidth as , say a G711a/u Codec, they may take more time to compress/decompress, depending on the speed/ability of the device(s) and thus cause more delay.

@freshEF We have an install on RDP, while we do get some issues sometimes, in the most its working ok, we have about 40 users at peak. The remote servers are AMD Epyc with 8 cores and 64GB ram each (Arround 20 users per server)

If the client is running in a remote machine, and you RDP into it from home, then there will be some delay

You can bypass the RDP and remote pc delay and go straight to the PBX via webclient or windows client or mobile client and this should provide at least some improvement.
