Hello,

I have an issue with a Yealink T22 phone, for the sake of this post,I will call the user "John Smith" as I do not ideally want to use his real name. Under the extension assigned to the phone in 3CX the name is spelled correctly however it is missing a character so would display as "John Smih". Further to this, when transferring calls it displays another users name e.g "Terry Green" who was using the phone in the past, which we then changed to "John Smith".

To try to resolve the issue I have factory reset and reprovisioned the phone, as well as recreate the extension. Has anyone experienced this issue or have a fix for this?

Thanks

What setup does the phone have - local, sbc or stun

What version of 3CX ?

Have you checked the phone is running the latest firmware - https://www.3cx.com/sip-phones/yealink-t20p-t22p-t26p-t28p/

Have you looked at the limitiations - https://www.3cx.com/sip-phones/yealink-t20p-t22p-t26p-t28p/

If you look at the address book on the phone, is it correct ? - if not maybe down to incompatible with secure "SSL Transport and Ciphers" setting. Can be found on Settings - Security Settings - Anti-Hacking

Perhaps is the same problem previously answered about 3CX clean process, which is for now not enough cleaning . So when you re-use an existing extension you may have some old things remaining on surface.
From 3cx Staff answer, they are normally fixing this on future V16 SP3

So perhaps for now it is better to affect new extension to john smith

Hello,

Thanks for getting back to me,

The phone is setup locally. The 3CX system is on version 15, oddly when I try to connect to the phone via its IP address on a web browser to check the firmware I cannot access the UI. I can confirm however that the IP address I am using is correct and I can get a ping response. Despite this, I have noticed that the "SSL Transport and Ciphers setting" is enabled and is incompatible with this phone as shown in the limitations.

As soon as I can contact the user of the phone (I am working remotely) I will confirm the IP address again but I am sure it is correct and find the firmware version.

If you do have any other suggestions or think there is not a lot more I could do at this point I would very much appreciate it.

Thanks

Alfie

Hello aws2p,

Thanks for letting me know. The 3CX system in use is currently on V15 but I will keep this in mind. We could potentially look at upgrading once service pack 3 has been released.

Thanks

Alfie

Hi Alfie,

Since its local, please reprovision the phone so it can receive the latest config as it appears in the management console.

You should be able to log in to the phone then locally, and verify that it has the correct information in the UI but only manually, it does not support direct UI login from the management console.

Note: If you are on V15 ensure its at least SP6 so you can remain activated. If your license allows you to do so, I recommend upgrading to V16 so you can take advantage of the latest updates.
