Hello,

I can see some past history on these forums in relation to call forwarding on Yealink phones being broken from V15 onwards. What is the latest situation on this. I am in the progress of deploying 60+ Yealink T41S (3CX supported) phones to my business and the first user to "test" his phone turned on call forwarding and whilst it shows the icon; nothing happens when an inbound call comes in, either internal or external. I note here there are no known limitations for the Yealink T41S in relation to call forwarding?

We tested call forwarding set directly on a legacy supported Polycom IP 7000 and it worked perfectly to an external mobile phone.

Our business is such that any kind of PC client based forwarding or presence isn't going to be possible. We need to be able to forward directly on the handset. Is there a way to achieve this? Seems like such a rudimentary issue to not have a working fix for?

Thanks in advance,

Hi,
yes call forwarding is phone dependent, then even if it works with some phones, it doesn't synchronize with your ibx, meaning that if you put a forward on a phone, even if it can work, when the phone is disconnected or offline, the forward will not work wich is a problem.
Its something lot of users want, check ideas forum and support thoses. It seems that 3cx doesn't want to work on this.
Even if it works with some phones, it is not supported by 3cx and a firmware upgrade for theses phone from 3cx can change everything then its not very reliable.
The only option 3cx has is to use status and change status on the phone by dtmf BLF. But they are drawbacks, biggest one is you cant change forward number on the phone but only on webclient and every phone user doesn't necessary have a computer and they need to learn how it works wich is painfull.
I have wrote here about this subject so many times...I will probably prepare standard answer and copy&paste next times...

Hi @SBNGT

A few things to consider:

In 3CX we forward calls via statuses by setting things up in your extension.
  • Works whether the phone is registered or not
  • Can also be controlled via Client at any time you wish
  • Can be adjusted by administrator / supervisor if needed
  • Plays well with other features (like schedules/breaks/groups/queues etc)

Forwards via the phone's interface are not the supported
  • Relies solely on the phone device
  • Can cause confusion if some user forwards their device back into a queue/ring group etc
  • May interfere with calls flows set via the management console
  • Will be overridden by PBX rules

Perhaps there is a another solution for your specific needs. If you always forward to the same destination, you can use your DND status and switch it on/off from the phone button. You can also use other Statuses for other types of forwards, and swap between them using BLF buttons.
