We noticed the following strange behavior on T46u and T43u devices on Fw version 108.86.0.72 on a 3cx 18.0 Update 5 (build 418) installation.
A user left some time ago and the extension was renamed from user's name to reception
When other users dialed the extension number the display showed both "Reception" and the older name
After making some tests in the devices gui we found out that in Directory->Settings there is "search source list in Dialing" field where only local Directory and call history were enabled. (attached screenshot)
When disabling call history and enabling Remote Directory the display only showed the correct name from 3cx Phone book.
We also noticed that the issue is resolved by clearing the call history from the device.
It seems that when a call is made, the phone checks both call history and 3cx Phonebook to display the name.
We manually changed it to 8 phones (mostly because the Owner was irritated when seeing old employee's name)
Is there a way to change it from 3cx management console for all devices?

Hello,

There is no way to change it on all devices from the 3CX management console.

Once the device phonebook is updated, it should start showing the correct name going forward.

But older records stored in the phone History need to be manually deleted if you no longer want to see them there.
Remember, these are stored on the device so 3CX has no control over it, management console or otherwise.

Thank you John for your reply.
I figured that it wouldn't be possible, but it is strange that it happens.
I can't tell if it something that changed in a recent firmware update, but this is the first time we came across this issue.
Anyway, thank you again for the reply, i will let the customer know.
Best regards,

Sure thing, thanks for sharing the info!
