Submitting a VoIP / SIP Trunk Interop Request

Introduction

This document explains how VoIP Providers, 3CX Partners and end users can submit a SIP Trunk for interoperability testing and inclusion in the 3CX Phone System.

The built-in 3CX VoIP Trunk Checker is used to test the SIP Trunk configuration and identify interoperability issues before submission.

Before You Submit

Before submitting a request:

  • Check that the SIP Trunk meets the 3CX SIP Trunk Requirements.
  • Create or clone an existing SIP Trunk template.
  • Configure the SIP Trunk in 3CX.
  • Run the 3CX VoIP Trunk Checker
  • Resolve any reported issues.
  • Generate the test report for submission.

Filling in the Interop Form

You can fill in the Interop Form here.

Company Information

Provide the provider’s company or legal name, brand name, website and the countries where the SIP Trunk service is available.

Technical & Support Contact Information

VoIP Providers should provide a technical and support contact. 3CX Partners and end users should provide these details where available.

Company Details

If you are submitting on behalf of the VoIP Provider, provide the requested company size and customer base information.

Trunk Capabilities

Provide details about the SIP Trunk features and capabilities.

Provider Infrastructure

Where known, provide information about the provider infrastructure, including the underlying carrier, SBC infrastructure and direct carrier interconnects.

Run the 3CX VoIP Provider Checker

Configure the SIP Trunk in the 3CX Admin Console and select Check SIP Trunk.

Complete the required tests and review the results.

Once testing is complete:

  1. Select Generate Report.
  2. Specify the 3CX version used for testing.
  3. Upload the generated report with the Interop Form.

What Happens After Submission

3CX will review the submitted information and test results.

Approved templates may be published under one of the following categories:

  • 3CX Tested - Tested directly by 3CX.
  • VoIP Provider Tested - Tested by the VoIP provider using the required interoperability process, with supporting test results submitted for review.
  • Community - Submitted or requested by a 3CX Partner, end user or community member.

3CX Tested and VoIP Provider Tested providers are listed on the 3CX website.

Community templates are available in the 3CX product but are not listed in the main VoIP Provider directory.

Configuration Guide

For provider-listed templates, a short configuration guide may also be required to help customers configure the SIP Trunk with 3CX.

The guide should cover:

  • Required settings in the provider portal.
  • SIP Trunk configuration in 3CX.
  • Authentication details.
  • DIDs and number formatting.
