Introduction
In many cases an analog door module, an old analog phone, or a bell must be registered to the 3CX Phone System as an internal extension. This guide will guide you through the process of registering an FXS port on your Beronet Gateway, as an extension in the 3CX Phone System.
Note: Following this guide you can connect a FAX to the FXS port. You will however need to create the extension as a “FAX device” and not as an “extension” as mentioned below. In case you are attaching a FAX while the Beronet is set as your ISDN/FXO gateway, use the built in setup assistant to create a “bypass” from the FXS port to the ISDN/FXO port and vice-versa, skipping this guide.
Step 1: Create Internal Extension
All extension numbers and IP’s that are shown in the screenshots should be replaced by the corresponding IP’s of your 3CX Phone System, Extension numbers etc. For the purposes of this guide we will create extension 115 on FXS Port 1.
In the 3CX Management Console navigate to “Extensions” and create an extension by clicking “Add Extension” (for this example we will use extension 115). Note down the password as we will use it later inside the Beronet Gateway configuration.
Step 2: Create new SIP Account
1. Navigate to “SIP” > “SIP” and click the “Add” button.
2. You will be presented with the following fields:
• Name: Enter Extension Number - 115.
• Server Address: IP address of your 3CX Phone System.
• User: Input the ID of the extension in this case it should be 115.
• Secret: Password previously configured in the 3CX Phone System.
• Register: Check “Register”.
• Register option: Select “Validate”.
• More: This option is not necessary to be configured at the moment.
3. Click “Save” and then “activate” in order to activate the SIP account.
4. You should see a registration of extension 115 in the 3CX Management Console under “Phone” coming from your Beronet device.
Step 3: Create DialPlan Analog -> SIP
