Hi

I have 1 SIP trunk with my VOIP provider. My VOIP provider allows me to direct multiple numbers to this SIP trunk which I am doing. The problem is, all numbers only hit the same target.

At the 3CX end, the SIP trunk is configured.

Route calls to
Main trunk Number
+44xxxxxxxxx1

Destination for calls during office hours
Extension
IVR 801

So I have multiple numbers,

+44xxxxxxxxx1
+44xxxxxxxxx2
+44xxxxxxxxx3

Whenever I dial ANY of the above numbers, they all hit the same IVR.

I want it so if someone dials +44xxxxxxxxx1
It routes to IVR801

when dialing +44xxxxxxxxx2
It routes to IVR802

and dialing +44xxxxxxxxx3
It routes to IVR803

I guess I am missing something somewhere. Can anyone help?

From "SIP Trunk", click on your SIP Trunk and Edit.

Click on the DID tab and Add DID and then OK. Add your other 2 DIDs here.

Then you can go to, i assume, Digital Receptionist which is want you want to create multiple of and then Add and scroll down to Direct Inbound Dialing (DID) and assign your respective DID there.

Yes you are missing the manual:

https://www.3cx.com/docs/manual/

I'd read the whole thing but your specific question would be in the section about inbound routing

You must be subscribing to a DID service from your provider, otherwise the dialled number is not sent. If the dialled DID number is not sent, then you cannot use DID rules to direct using the dialled number.

Does this mean you are paying your provider for multiple numbers, or forwarding number, from elsewhere to the number your provider has assigned you? If it is the former, be sure that your provider is treating the numbers as DIDs and not simply sending caller ID information in the Invite.

Yes, I am paying for multiple numbers. I will check with them about the invite.

edit: I have just realised that the DID 'IS' sent.

The thing is, I do not want xx2 or xx3 to even hit this IVR.

The answer to your question is clearly documented in the aforementioned section. And you are correct, most posts here could be resolved by folks reading the manual or the guides for the various endpoints/configurations/scenarios. It's almost like that's why they they were written in the first place....

Oh dear, there is one on every forum :)

Don't worry your little head, the problem is solved. Yes, I had read the manual but due to a small config error mine wasn't working as expected. Now it is. Thank you for your 'input'.

Also to note - I have had a provider change the format of the inbound identifier. At first there was <10digits>, then they changed to <+1><10digits>.
So now my internal rules are created as <*><10digits> to be inclusive.

Glad to see the issue has been resolved.
