I'm running 3CX Standard v 16.0.5. One of our extensions uses a Grandstream HT801 ATA. The ATA has been configured (using *72) to unconditionally forward incoming calls to an external number. It seems as though the ATA is operating correctly (i.e. forwarding the call) but the call fails. Here's an extract from the Activity Log:

07/06/2020 14:46:14 - [CM503003]: Call(C:7518): Call to <sip:[email protected]:0> has failed; Cause: 302 Moved Temporarily/INVITE from 185.xxx.xxx.xxx:5062
07/06/2020 14:46:14 - [Flow] Target endpoint for 0114xxxxxxx can not be built!
07/06/2020 14:46:14 - Call to T:Extn:0005@[Dev:sip:[email protected]:5062] from L:7518.1[Line:10002<<0786xxxxxxx] failed, cause: Cause: 302 Moved Temporarily/INVITE from 185.152.3.49:5062

I have replaced sensitive info with xxxx. 01142xxxxxx is the number set on an the ATA to forward to and is a valid number. I have tried it with various numbers but all produce the same result.

Is the 185.xxx.xxx.xxx:5062 IP that of your provider? Is the number being sent ( 0114xxxxxxx ) valid?

185.xxx.xxx.xxx is the public IP of the router the ATA is attached to. The 0114 number is definitely valid, I have a full capture (.pcap file) I could send if that would help?

What is the setup? Is 3Cx hosted? If so, is the ATA using STUN? So you are doing the forwarding using a function in the ATA?

Yes, the 3CX is hosted. The fowarding is being done by the ATA (using the *72 feature code). The ATA uses "Keep-Alive" for NAT traversal.

The fact that the 3CX Activity Log shows
[Flow] Target endpoint for XXXXXXXXXXX can not be built!
(where XXXXXXXXXXX is the number the ATA is set to forward to), suggests to me that the ATA has attempted to forward the call correctly.

The end user needs to forward to different numbers at different times. I would prefer the end user to do this rather than getting the 3CX admin to do it. I suppose I could give them access to the 3CX web client or console for their extension only?

Many thanks for your help. Please feel free to close this ticket.
