3CX AWS Lightsail Connect to Generic SIP Trunking

Greetings and salutations 3CX team et al from Jamaica,
I am trying to connect my AWS Lightsail instance of 3CX [cloud] to my on-premise FTTB Authentication based SIP Line [on premise], what are the best ways to connect them?

The SIP line is non-public facing, only accessible from a connected port.

Is there a way to use a Mikrotik RB2011B and do redirecting? If so, should changing the Firewall characteristics be all?

OR

Should I create a VPN tunnel from AWS Lightsail instance to my on-premise using OpenVPN then do a physical connection to the specified switch port on the FTTB SIP?

OR

Any other thoughts/suggestions will be greatly appreciated!


Note: I cannot use supported 3CX SIP Providers due to the high costs of making local calls (in Jamaica). The SIP as it currently stands is working.

This is a networking issue. As you stated, the SIP can only be delivered locally, so the only options are to make 3CX local, or create a setup where local resources can be accessed remotely such as VPN as you mentioned.

So just wondering can a SBC work to link the physical FTTB SIP line to the Cloud 3CX, seeing that SBC connect local IP Phones to cloud based 3CX? [as seen in this 3CX tutorial]

The 3CX SBC is only for the exact scenario outlined in that tutorial, phones to 3CX. It will not work to connect trunks to 3CX.

I acknowledge that this post is dated, but it's worth noting that solutions in Jamaica have undergone substantial advancements since then. Presently, you have the option to transfer your number to WOCOM, a local Jamaica based iTSP, and seamlessly integrate it as a standard SIP Trunk with the 3CX PBX on the public internet. This eliminates the necessity for a VPN tunnel or any other tunneling technologies or local gateways that rends to fail in the event there is a loss of internet connection or the local land line cabling gets damaged.
