At random times when using webclient and/or windows client, calls are ended by caller but 3CX still advises that the call is active. The call length continues to tick over even though caller had hung up. Anyone seen this?
No but can you differentiate as to whether the issue is the actual clicking to end the call that is the issue (on the desktop) or that the client is not sending the BYE message when the call is ended (a Wireshark trace will tell you this).
I've seen this with unsupported SIP trunk providers. As @eddv123 alludes to this is from a missed BYE message although it sounds like the opposite of what he is saying since you mention the caller is hanging up (implying an inbound call) and yet you still see the call in progress. Do you also experience unanswered inbound calls that continue to ring after the caller hangs up?
Can you terminate the call from the switchboard or from the active calls screen of the dashboard? Does the extension appear as busy after the call is ended? Do you have the same issue with extension to extension calls? And finally do you pass the firewall checker?
I can terminate the call from the web client by clicking "end " which does "finish" the call. The extension status is in an active state when the fault happens. Have yet to test extension to extension test to see if it fault occurs. Firewall is all OK. Will monitor the issue as it hasn't faulted in the last few days.
Thank you for the update. I would recommend keeping an eye on the issue and see if it can be replicated. If it can then a packet capture will help you determine that cause of the issue.
