I am trying to get the fax server work. I followed the procedure on 3CX:

What is FAX authentication user ID and Password used for? Where on the other end do I place this information?

Is there any more steps I have to take such as an inbound route?

You need a Inbound DID rule set as "Send FAX to" and select 888.

Auth informations are used when connecting a fax machine via an ATA.

Not sure why you are asking this question as it should be all auto-filled when you setup the FAX extension. I assume if you are setting it up like this you only want inbound FAX and not outbound as well?
