3CX FAX Service Help.

Hi,
I tried everything according to manuals of 3CX.
Please can anyone tell me how to set up a fax service?
Also is it possible to receive as well as send it?

Our Specifications:-
VegaStream 400
3CX v5.1.4510.0
IP330 Phones Polycom

Any help will be really appreciated.

Hi,

We have not tested fax with vegastream yet. However we are working with Vegastream on supporting Vegastream gateways.

In v5 you can only receive faxes - in v6 you can also send.

Note that FAX is a paid edition feature.

Thx for the reply.
I have fully licensed version of 3CX.I am getting a bit confused, what you mean the v5 ,v6.
You mean 3cx versions or the vegastream versions?
If i am right 3cx is on initial build of version 5.
And also my VegaStream supports T38.

Anyway i also bought the linksys FXS and planning to fiddle with actual fax machine after the bank holiday.
Any information i should be particularly aware of when i connect the actual fax machine with 3cx?

OK, sorry about confusion:

We are working to support Vegastream for v5 (it will be a new template). However meanwhile you could try configuring the Vegastream to forward inbound fax calls to the fax service of 3CX. That way you receive the fax as a PDF.

If you want to keep using your older fax machine via an ATA - then forget about t38 - this is only for fax machines capable of T38. To use your old fax machine, configure it as a regular extension and be sure to use G711. It should more or less work. Unfortunately fax -if not t38 - is not great over Voip. Unless the FXS you bought has some special support for fax - but i am not aware of any except the Patton fax adaptor, which is kind of an FXS just for fax machines.

Hi ,
Great so i will be waiting for the new build.

I bought Linksys SPA3102 Voice Gateway 1 FXO + 1 FXS

As the description it should work fine.Will let you know in the foll week when will start to mess with it.
Also i tried to use the FAX-Email in the 3CX and it does not work at all.
Is there any example you can provide me so that i will have a look to see ,if i have configured it properly.

take a look on page 65 in the 3CX PhoneSystem Manual. it is your gateway T38 proof???
