Hi,

I'm wondering if this is normal behavior or if maybe there is a way to make this better on my PBXs. Anyways, I've noticed that whether or not I am using the iOS client or Android client, when my extension or any other extension that I've tested receives a call it takes about 3 rings to start ringing on the phone client. Meanwhile the desktop phone is ringing immediately. This happens for both internal calls and outbound calls.

So basically it is taking about 6-10 seconds before the phone client will ring. I am wondering whether or not this is normal behavior as I have seen this on two different PBXs I am testing. Both are on the latest stable version 15.6 and the phone clients are fully updated and tested on both Android and iOS. Is there anyway to improve this speed? 6-10 seconds isn't super slow in my books but just wondering if I can make this better or if anyone else has their PUSH notifications firing out faster than myself?

Thanks!

This is not normal behavior as far as I can tell you. I receive calls simultaneously on both desktop app and android app when I receive a call.

Hello @Justin Estruch

Please note that a small delay is normal and you will find this with any app that relies on Push. This is due to the process that takes place until the call can reach your device and can vary depending on your internet speed, your device and your position to the Google / Apple server. However 6-10 seconds sounds a bit much. From my experience using the client, the deskphone will usually ring 2-3 seconds before the mobile client. When you have your mobile device client open and registered do calls ring immediately?

On iOS i haven't noticed this, but yes on Android cliënts. Changing the battery saving settings helped a bit. I believe there is a seperate post for this.

There is always a bit of a delay, because the PUSH service needs to start the cliënt and then cliënt needs to register itself on the network.

yes that's the point. Probably you notice the delay because the Android phone it is not as good as the iPhone. If you try an Android phone like samsung s8 it is quite fast because the phone is an high end android phone. So I suggest to use "expensive phone" if the ringing time is a matter.
