i have a 3cx that is storing the recordings on the 3cx server. all our operator calls are recorded. a guest called in to the operators several times asking to be moved. the operators downloaded all the recordings. The guest was checked out and moved to another unit. they went back to listen to the recordings and they were gone. we did another test of this and the same thing happened. I have an on prem 3cx running software v20.0 update 8 (build 1121 beta)

Hello,

That is the expected and documented behaviour ( https://www.3cx.com/docs/hotel-pbx/#h.o0n11r7xf38i ). If you need to retain recordings, and are "allowed" to do so, then you need to arrange to transfer them to some other storage location before check-out.

thanks i will get the remote storage bucket set up asap. the call recording was done from a pbx operators phone. it doesn't seem right that the recording would be deleted just because it was a guest who called them. if someone has an emergency and calls the operator the phone call is recorded. soon as the guest checks out the recording is deleted? that doesn't really make good sense to me. Voicemail messages yes but not call recordings.

You may want to consider taking a look at our 3CX Recording Manager tool. With our tool all recordings are instantly archived to the platform of your choice while retaining a copy on your 3CX server. At the same time, you can use AI to score how well your staff handled the call on criterial you specify. I call the feature "Ask AI Anything". You can also get coaching suggestions automatically too. It's a great way to monitor staff performance over time (average score by day in a line chart) or build your own custom reports with our 3CX Exporter tool (now includes a custom report builder).
