A suggestion if 3CX start to work on this community idea : Yubico has great keys with FIDO2/U2F/smart-card/PGP/Webauthn capabilities.

+1 for 2FA but also add authentication option for LDAP for both the Management Console and WebClient.
With LDAP you can have individual logins for the Management Console, a critical requirement if you are tracking/auditing login. And LDAP allows integration to 2FA providers like Duo, which in turn provides an LDAP proxy to AD. So this would get you both 2FA and integration into current authentication/auditing systems.
On the web client LDAP allow the 2FA as above without actually adding 2FA code to you app, and you get possible integration into other LDAP systems.
