Hello,

I have a problem with external calls after we have changed our router to Unifi Dream Machine Pro.
Before that, we had the Watchguard M200 and there was no problem with sound.

However, when we calling outside or somebody calling to us, things what we say is chopped and hard to understand.
Internal calls working fine, firewall test does not show anything wrong.
Port forwarding done according to 3cx website, SIP ALG in UniFi disabled.

PBX Host on site, VM stats:
Disk Usage
21% used
10.8 GB free

Memory Usage
14% used
3.3 GB free

CPU Usage
0/100%

Any ideas?
If not possible to setup I start to think to move PBX to cloud

We use a UDM Pro but our PBX is hosted. That being said I've never had problems with Ubiquiti devices and 3CX. Do you have traffic shaping (smart queues) turned on? What interface type are you using for internet?

We are using WAN1 (1gbps cooper with 500mbps symmetric fibre from Zettanet).
I have turned on smart QoS but with no success.

Below a bit of useful info
  • 3CX Version: Standard Annual Version Number 16.0.504
  • Server OS, e.g. Debian latest
  • Is the 3CX Server Hosted and where? Local onsite
  • IP Phone Make/Model/Firmware: Fanvil X3SG / Softphones / Smartphones
  • Provisioning Method: Local
  • Trunk Provider or Gateway Make/Model: Australian Phone company / Unifi Dream Machine Pro
  • Has the Firewall Checker passed: YES
  • Are custom Phone Templates being used: NO
small update - chopped voice is only when we use internal phone to call outside. When we use softphone and call from external network there is no our voice at all.

@KIC the softphone will work best if you enable the tunnel under your extension, and reprovision the app.

As for the choppy audio, I would suggest to run a wireshark capture, and see how the audio arrives from the provider's side if possible

Ok, I know there were some issues with the SFP port an auto-negotiating speeds but if you are using the ethernet port you should be ok. Are you using the SFP port to uplink to another switch? What firmware are you running?

Latest firmware, ATM I am using only 1gbps cooper (waiting for DAC cables).
