Does this Beta update address the lingering issue of delayed voicemail emails?

  • Added Call Deflection. (etc 302)

Great update, still waiting on 2 features that have been begged for by many partners in the ideas forum and have been in other pbxs for years... 1, distinctive ring tones so users can hear a diff tone for internal vs external calls. 2, multiple queue calls at an extension. The really good reports are for Qs but no use without this feature. My customers ask me about them all the time and I tell them I hope they are coming soon.

So im a bit confused, most of our deployments are ovh hosted on deb 8. Can we just run this update form the management console and it will update them to 9? Or do we need to manually go to 9 first?

Also, if manual is required and auto update in managements console will that do damage to existing pbx's?

Debian 8 will run this update, just installed it on my home server. They will be providing the script to update to 9 as I know there was some issues with dependencies initially.

In the release notes this is mentioned:

Added support to not send e-mail for a BETA update.

Is this just turned on by default? I did not see the option to enable this.

I see hotdesking doesn't support fanvil phones (X5 series). Will this be added as i see it is a compatible phone and on their website they mention the phones both the X5g and the X5s support hotdesking.

Also how do we setup the recurring greetings? I am trying to use the webclient and can only schedule a single meeting or am i to use the 3cx client to schedule them?

Hotdesking looks great, we have a few clients who will really appreciate this.

However, it would be nice if one of the BLFs could be set to a "log in" shortcut when the phone is in "neutral" (the logged out state). Remembering *77*ext* is going to be difficult for people who don't use a hot desk very often, e.g. visiting another site, and it would save us some support calls!

Maybe your network or machine is delaying your voicemails.. There are no changes made to lingering delays of voicemails.

Thanks for the feedback. But you need to put them as ideas and vote for them.

This cannot be done so easily. Just train them to dial *77*+ ext number + * or print it on the phones. We did consider it but to be honest.

Actually good idea - open it in ideas. We never had this feature.

Work like this:
Update 3CX from management console and leave them on debian 8.
Soon we will release an update script that will update debian 8 to 9.
This will work ONLY if you use 3CX ISO's. If you installed 3CX manually on debian 8 and you have other packages installed, the script we will provide might fail so don't try.

In fact when we release this script, we will add a mega disclaimer at the top stating that if you installed anything else apart from 3CX, you run this at your own risk.

If you want the script I can share it here. It will save you a lot of time.

For now you can leave OS on debian 8 and take 3CX up toi Sp2 via management console updates.
