Hoping someone here can help with a couple questions.

1. We have a customer who is transitioning off an old Nortel BCM phone system, on the old system when they made an intercom call to another extension that was on a call it would display on call so the caller knew the callee might not be available. Any feature in 3cx or Fanvil phone that would display that info other than the BLF keys?

2. When paging from another extension (not multicast) the phones display ring group 800 as a missed call. Not sure if that's only when someone hangs up before the paging call completes or not.

Hope this is clear, we are on v16.0.3.676 and there are about 50 extensions.
Thanks!

Hello @systemstech

1 - Webclient offers you a really nice view on your colleagues and if they're free, on call or on a special status. On phone side, BLFs display you the availability too. What different information are you looking for ?

2 - You made your thing with Paging/Intercom guide from 3CX ? Then if it shows missed call, the paging isn't announcing anything through phone speaker ? Is the called in "Available" Status ?

Thanks for the reply, I understand about BLF's & the webclient.

1 - I was looking for an option that could show if an extension is on a call when dialing that extension on the main phone display.

2 - Yes I followed the paging guide and paging works. The called extension was available I believe, not sure why it shows missed call on some pages.

On another note, there is a delay when dialing the paging ring group, we might try multicast paging not sure how that might affect the issue.

thx

Hi @systemstech

What phones and firmware version are you using?
How were they provisioned?
What is extension 800 on your system? (Screenshot please of its settings

Phones are primarily Fanvil X5S on firmware v1.12.5. There are a few Fanvil X3U on v1.2.0.

We imported most of the phones into the system and provisioned them in 3cx, they are all on-site with the 3cx system. The remaining phones were provisioned individually in 3cx mgmt console.

800 is a Ring Group with Ring Strategy Paging and most phones assigned as group members (~50), no DID.

Thanks, and can you also describe in which scenario you can cause the number 800 to appear as a missed call?

Do you have a way to cause it to happen (After clearing the history on the phone first) ?

I will give it a try, probably will have to wait until later today.

Sure, give it a go and let us know. Normally when a Page group is rang our default provisioning makes your phone auto-answer and you hear a beep.

The logs keep the call and the page group Caller ID appears with the name and extension of the group (depending on your settings) but normally you would not get a missed call from it.

You know I looked into it a little further and it appears the paging appearing as a missed call is only happening on one phone and I think that is because the user went in and disabled intercom and intercom tone settings on the phone itself. Sigh..

Any chance there is a way to display the called persons status on the phone's display when making an intercom call?

Ok if the user modified the settings then it would make sense indeed. I would reprovision it to make sure it behaves as intended.

Regardless of intercom or not, the only way to see their status is via BLF or via the 3CX clients. This shows the status of the extension though, not the deskphone itself.
