Hi all,
I just realized that my outbound caller ID does not work anymore on V16.0.0.1110
I use flowroute, and tried OutboundCallerID , OutboundLineID, OriginatorCallerID without success, making sure that the default trunk outgoing number, and user had for example 18009001234. It always shows as UNKNOWN on the recipient. From the traces I made, I can see that 3CX sends From: "Name" <sip:18009001234> which I believe is correct. I called my carrier, but if anyone has a hint, I'm all ears !

The callerid name to the best of my knowledge is not handled by 3cx.

Some services on the internet let you lookup caller id name as reported, like https://www.twilio.com/lookup and others that I am not privy to.

Have you tried adding a new trunk to Flowroute (before deleting the old one), using the default template settings in V16?

@3cxnub I am talking about the outbound caller ID, which is handled in the SIP SDP packets by 3CX

@leejor I did not try that. Will try and let you know. But I find it hard that when people will upgrade to this release they will all have to go through their trunks to delete and re-create trunks. That was a working trunk.

As version 16 is still in Beta, I would not be too quick to replace a working (critical) system, for other than testing purposes.

@leejor that is our testing bed. someone has to raise the bug.

If it isn't a "working" system, then, I would make note of the current outbound trunk settings, create a new trunk, route the calls out over that, see if it works, then compare the "new" settings. Anything different?

In the past, we changed "From: Host Part" to Custom Field.
I tried with "GWHostPort" Gateway/Provider Host/Port , and now it works.
Weird.

You don't need to delete the old one. You can just go through the process of adding a new one (with bogus info) just to check the settings and then update your existing trunk.

Hello @saint_

The default template for Flowroute has the From: Host part set to "GWHostPort" Gateway/Provider Host/Port which is the correct setting. Without the correct information in the Host Part the provider might discard the From SIP filed all together. The weird thing is that it ever worked before.

Glad to see the issue has been resolved.
