Hi All,

I am trying to install the latest 3CX on a new server for a client. After the Debian install finishes, instead of re-booting to the 3CX Wizard it boots to a Linux login.

I have checked with the hosting company and they state the firewall is not blocking any ports. I have checked the networking and if I log in to the server, I can resolve DNS and ping sites including downloads.3cx.com.

If I run the sudo /usr/sbin/3CXWizard --cleanup command, it errors telling me there is no such file or directory so it would appear the repositories have not been downloaded.

The ISO I have used was downloaded from the link in the 3CX install instructions and is 3CX branded on the start screen.

I have tried the install multiple times and each time the result is the same, I have followed the install instructions to the letter so I am open to advice as to where I may be going wrong.

Hello WalnutTech,

I am not sure why this does happen, but you could try to use this:

Code:
echo "deb [arch=amd64 by-hash=yes signed-by=/usr/share/keyrings/3cx-archive-keyring.gpg] http://repo.3cx.com/3cx bookworm main" | tee /etc/apt/sources.list.d/3cxpbx.list
apt-get update
apt-get -y install 3cxpbx

Hi @WalnutTech could you please include screenshots of the procedure followed to validate?

What VM are you using? could you please download the ISO file from the partner portal ----- Downloads menu.

Make sure to allow the traffic to the domains below:

  • Activation Service: Activation of 3CX Products
activate.3cx.com, 443 (outbound, TCP, uninspected traffic)
  • Discovery Service: Discover your Public IP
discoverv4.3cx.com, 443 (outbound, TCP, uninspected traffic)
  • Update Server: For 3CX updates and IP Phone firmware
    downloads-global.3cx.com, 443 (outbound, TCP)

Please try to spin a new machine with the ISO downloaded from the partner portal and follow the steps in this manual

Thanks!

Hello,

What type of hosting is it, what virtualisation is used, if you know. Specifications for the host are within minimum requirements? Have you deployed to this hosting provider before? Do you have a console connection or connecting via SSH? Does the machine have a correct time source as it boots up?

Hi,
Thank you for replying. I followed that exact manual and downloaded the ISO from the link within that manual.
The install is to a physical server and I have previously installed 3CX successfully to a different server in the same hosting.
The hosting company has confirmed nothing is blocking the installer or those ports.
Running the code from Paulodagraca did the trick. I now have the Wizard start screen in front of me.
Kind regards

That did the trick, thank you very much.
