Hello,
We have 3cx Pro with 64 simultaneous calls on VMware Virtual Server installed (10.110.2.110) and over VDSL modem AVM FRITZ!Box connected to Interned.
Then we bought two SIP Trunks from Deutsche Telekom, first have limit 11 channels, second 10 channels.
Our problem is, that we can make only 8 calls (first + second SIP Trunk together). Next call we have busy tone.

Can this problem be somewhere in 3cx or in VDSL modem or is it Deutsche Telekom problem?
On SIP Trunk we now have limit 64 calls.

I made this trace, when my Phone 10.180.0.1 received busy tone and only 8 another calls was active.

Thank you

You are getting a 486 busy here from your providers IP address.

Error 486 is a normal busy condition for the destination number. Can you trace via their platform or do they not provide this sort of feature ?

Hi,
Do you have set this 11 and 10 channels in trunk sip settings?
Do you receive some email notification from 3CX about ? :
A trunk failover occurs or max amount of calls available through trunk has been exceeded
or
License limit is reached (shouldn't be the case with 64 SC)

Thank you, I think we found reason in Deutsche Telekom SIP Trunk documentation located on Internet.

This VDSL line from DT is limited to 8 VoIP calls. I think SIP Server (DT) make query, where is SIP Trunk located and when on this DT VDSL line, then set limit to 8 VoIP calls. And for every next call send "BUSY".

This weekend we will try to switch to a second Internet provider, not VDSL from DT ;-)

Really good to have found this in Doc , not the first thing i would have thought
this DT limitation is due to available bandwith ? or even with enough bandwith you can't have more than 8SC ?

I did a speed test. Is it not bandwich problem.
Some types of DT VDSL lines probably have this limitation.

This bandwith is dedicated to voip or all other internet uses also? because if only for VOIP so you could have a call center on this line not a 8SC

Perhaps the limit is there because allowing more calls caused audio issues (with some users), and therefore, more trouble calls to them.

In your SIP Trunk, check the "Number of SIM Calls ". The Default is 8 you may need to increase that to however many Calls that Trunk can handle up to the total 64 of the License. The Sim of the license and the SIM of the trunk are not tied together.

Good call normally , but I think you missed the post where he said it was determined to be a provider setting and not a trunk setting that was limiting him.

Generally speaking, providers that give you a VoIP access modem will adjust their price according to the SC you will buy and will charge you separately for access, DIDs, and call costs. The bandwidth, or access rather, is limited accordingly (using some kind of technique or another). You may be able to buy an access package that allows more than 8 (if the price is justifiable) or just be forced to max out at 8.

Usually the internet access speed is not related, they might have a special VLAN configured on a LAN port of the modem that is not exposed to the internet and only provides access to the SIP server. VDSL2 can reach very high upload speeds depending on your area so that is not usually the limiting factor.

For sure this it's not other thing than commercial. 8 SC bandwith consumption, if all channels are busy , with G711 , more or less than 800 kb/s FD on a line with Megabytes abilities like Tomas use it's like a tear in ocean
