Is there a way to create a "custom" email for 911 call email alerts? Currently, we have 3CX sending emails to our IT group for various things - but 911 calls is NOT an IT function. Those email notifications needs to be send to a specialized email group within our organization.

Thanks,

Amir

When you go to settings, general in the emergency numbers area there is a notifications button.

That will allow you to choose how to handle the notifications.

Just want to add that, since the email address of your IT group is probably already set under "Settings >> Email >> Notifications", you should remove the "Someone dials an Emergency Number" checkbox under "Events" and only enable "Email Notifications" in the section mentioned by @jcostlow which is "Settings >> General >> Scroll down to Emergency Numbers >> Notifications", then just add the email address group you wish to be receiving these emails there.

You can also modify the template used for this email notifications in "Settings General >> Scroll down >> Template".

Man - I am liking 3CX more and more each day! When I finish this migration project from Cisco IP Telphony - we are going to have a celebration!

Our Cisco IP telephony environment includes:

2 @ UCSC-C220-M4S Rack Mounted Servers ( with their own separate CIMC Management GUI)
2 @ vSphere for above referenced servers (with the usual virtualization layer management requirements)
4 @ ISR 4331 CUBES (Cisco crazy acronym for SBC) with CLI that only a rocket scientist can understand
12 @ Virtual Machines to support 6 different applications - each with it's own GUI that are truly absurdly complex
450 Overpriced Cisco phones which are prone to software and hardware defects
60 SpeechView licenses to support VM transcription
No native call recording
No native speech recognition

Last, but certainly not least, about 40k USD in annual recurring software, hardware and licensing costs. Does anyone, in their right mind, think Cisco is a viable IP telephony solution for SMB clients? The answer would be a resounding HELL NO!

Hey guys,

I see that you can also select "Play Announcement" as one of the emergency call notifications. Since this must be recorded by the client, there is no way to dynamically announce what number called 911.

That is something the Cisco Emergency Responder system does dynamically.

Amir,

I believe you already have our tools which includes our 3CX Emergency Notifier tool. This will give you far more granular notification based on location and includes specific details about who dialed the emergency number and where the person is located.

For example, you can list the building address, floor, pillar, down to the cubicle location. You can notify internal responders by phone call, email, SMS text, and desktop popup -- all notifications include the detailed location information. Notifications are sent to the closest designated staff to where the extension resides.

If you move a phone from one location to another, we can automatically set the correct location based on the IP address of the device (physical phone, soft phone, web client, android, or iOS).

We also keep a log of who dialed the number, and who was notified, how they were notified, and when. And you can add notes to the activities so if you need information about what happened later, everything is documented.

In addition to what @jcostlow said, we use this and have an email distribution group that we send our 911 alerts go to. It goes to our Campus Police personnel as well as the Director of IT, the Assistant Director of IT, and myself. And within that email group contains email addresses and cell phone numbers
