It should be taken into consideration that your hosting partners may do a lot of work to brand their product as well as create customer portals for their products using our own domains and URLs. We need to maintain custom FQDNs because it's part of our branding strategy. Making us pay more for no additional features other than keeping our branding does not feel like a win/win.

I am guessing that hosting partners generate a good amount of revenue for 3CX and they might also be the most technical partners, which means lower number of support calls. I hope 3CX is thinking about how to help make those partners successful. We're a bit fatigued from some of the unusual surprise changes that occur release to release. We love the innovation, but we also need product consistency. I'm happy to discuss this further if more details are needed.

No problem - give out pro edition for your branding and for the featur set you provide to our customers

I couldn't agree more with this. I'm also a partner and implementing this change into a service pack release is unbelievable.

Still, your existing customers do not lose anything. They run by the same terms they signed up. And so many you can onboard in the first year on a 16 SC free version. You have great business ahead with this change!

Also here, your existing customers have as before. Going frwd there is a change but see what you can offer now to your customers! More then a benefit for everyone I can’t see...

Your flippant responses demonstrate a lack of professionalism and understanding. "Giving away" the Pro edition is exactly what we'd be doing. The customer will be getting the Pro edition and we'll be paying more for no other reason than to keep our branding. The alternative is that we pass the additional cost to the customer which will cause them to have the same conversation I'm having with you -- "why the increase in price for no tangible benefits?"

Does the free version allow the use of a custom FQDN and SMTP server? If not, it doesn't do me any good since I can't use it with a customer.

Even considering this only applies to new customers, it is a poor idea in my opinion to remove features in an edition unless it is widely publicized and associated with a full version release like v16.

Several customers on Win Server 2012 and Debian 8 complain that SP3 breaks down the PBX -- either phones (supported models) are not registering or constantly ringing themselves. No complains about Debian 9 installments until now.
We had that issue here, on Debian 9. I think the problem was that we were using custom Grandstream templates. I changed all the phones over to the ones that the new update has and the issue stopped. Phones we have are 2130, 2140, and 1610. Not sure if that helps but thought I'd share.

Could be, one of the problematic systems uses only Yealink T23G and T29G phones. default template.

Thank you thank you thank you for the resumed support of the cost effective Grandstream phones. This will give a great option for a low cost deployment where the customer does not want to spend a fortune to get BLF keys.

Welcome welcome welcome

same here can't update, can't find server.... ns resolves just fine. Overloaded update servers perhaps???

I kept getting that on my in-house system.

This worked for me on Linux host.

1) take a full backup of the system and save it to a different location than the 3CX related backup location for backup purposes

2) run from the CLI the following commands

- apt-get update

-apt-get upgrade

UNBELIEVABLE! This is yet another complete step backwards and a straight up slap in the face to your loyal partners! Partners who work hard each and every day to bring YOU customers? Do you want to just be in business for yourselves now? Just drop the partner program then and be done with it. There is ZERO point in being a partner today. ZERO!

Sure give away a 16SC license but lock down the FQDN and SMTP? Maybe we can get lucky and sell upgrades? That's your wise plan?

Free hosting for a year? What about your partners who build a business around hosting 3CX for our customers?

Why does anyone even partner with you? WTF is wrong with the management team at 3CX?
Totally agree. We're a Platinum Partner and these changes over the past year have just been pushing us to look at different systems to sell.

Couldn't agree more. Sometimes I feel like we're partnered with children.

I believe, as of March 1st, the new 8SC pro is $20.00 more then the old 8SC standard for annual licenses. Not sure about the others sizes.

I used to work for DELL. I loved how we took out the partners and went direct. We kept the prices down and consultants made a boatload selling services with our superior products.
Good job 3CX. There's plenty of money in services, but rebranding is just a way to squeeze the customers and lock them into something they can't easily change.

We stand by the deal we made with you at the time, therefore you can remain using them unless fqdn unbound or once switched to our smtp service. Enjoy!

I think my answer as clear. If you where on the PBEedition you got more. If you where reg std user u keep what you had. Always renew Tao keep the seravice up!

On new customers no. This part needs pro and up. Still less hassle For you when your provided certs runs out, ours just work as long u have MA. Win Win

Stefan, your responses are amazingly tone deaf. 3cx is the ONLY one benefiting from this change. Your partners who resell this are the ones who are losing. IN NO WAY WHATSOEVER is this a win for partners. I highly encourage you to read the responses to your tone deaf, flippant responses to see why you (and 3cx) need to change direction on this and do it quick. You're about to lose a lot of loyal partners otherwise.

The “old free” and the “new free”, if we might like to call it, are on the same terms regarding the mentioned configuration options. Beside this, the “one trunk only” limitation is gone...

The changes mentioned here regarding FQDN and SMTP do not affect me as I am already on PRO and am not a reseller. I am an end user. To that note, thank you 3cx for bringing back Grandstream support. Music to my ears.
To the rest of you - good luck.

any answers for the error some sites are getting trying to get updates yet? i have 2 sites that have it and I really need to get one of them upgraded asap.

error message is "Unable to reach 3CX Updates server. Check your internet connection and try again."

Have never had issues with downloading updates on these sites before today.
