Hello,

We have 3 clinics in different cities and at one of them we tried out 3cx. We have an onsite pbx hosted on a windows machine. We like the system and want to implement it in our other two locations. What do others recommend to do this. The options I see are move out pbx to the cloud and then setup ipsec vpn's to each location. The other option would be to put a pbx at each location and then bridge them.

I know the cloud option would be cheaper, but cost isn't an issue. We just need what is going to have the best call quality and be the most reliable options.

Thanks!

We have customers successfully utilizing both approaches. In my opinion, there isn't a right or wrong way, so long as its implemented properly. Typically it boils down to comfort level with having direct access to equipment (i.e., on premise) at the risk of having a higher risk with business continuity and disaster recovery and that of having limited or no access to equipment (i.e., cloud), but with a more reliable business continuity and disaster recovery architecture.

As far as call quality. QoS issues typically occur inside the LAN, but there are some external items to consider as well. For one, research your ISP and consider a failover ISP if needed. Find out what region your SIP provider's data center resides and compare that to where your preferred cloud PBX data center resides. Preferably, you would want your PBX cloud services and your SIP provider to be in the same geographical region, and better yet, in the same data center if possible.

I hope this helps.

Good Luck!
