After upgrade to 15.5, can not re-activate license

I have upgraded an installation of 3CX on a Debian server, and after a reboot, the log says, that the license key does not match the FQDN, and a new activation is needed before I can use Webmeeting.

In the management console I also get the following error, when trying to re-activate the license key:

3CX failed to establish a TCP connection to activation.3cx.com.
Ensure that the local or border firewalls are configured to allow outbound traffic to activation.3cx.com

Is there any issues with the activation server? I have tried disabling any firewall rules etc, and still no connection.

In the portal, I have verified, that the license key and FQDN is the same as it has been the last couple of years for this installation.

Please ensure it is Version 15.5 SP6 otherwise it can no longer talk to the activation servers.

Thank you for replying. I had already run the apt-get update/upgrade, but noticed now, that it's still version 15.5.10244, so it's somehow stuck in SP4. I have to look into why its not upgrading to SP5 (suspecting it might be a repo issue or jessie vs stretch perhaps?)

Please SSH to the machine and run command

apt-cache policy 3cxpbx

Make sure that you see version 15.5.15502.6 is available in the list. If it is try to upgrade again and see if you get an error.

It is not a repository issue as we successfully upgraded a client from SP4 to SP6 that had a very similar issue to the one mentioned in the thread you quoted. Not sure what the issue was as i was not the one who checked the machine but the upgrade was successful.

I don't see version 15.5.15502.6 on the list. It's an elderly pbxexpress installation, running Jessie distribution - not sure if it will make a difference to upgrade it to Stretch?. When i run the policy check I get this result:

Trying to do the upgrade gives the following result:

After a restart of the VM, the SP5 upgrade showed up in the Management Console, and I was able to upgrade to SP5, restart, and then upgrade to SP6.

So problem is resolved - thank you @YiannisH_3CX and @pact

I forget which SP it was but I know for SP6 you should be on STRETCH, not JESSIE. I think this link is still valid as far as upgrading Debian:

Of course make sure you have a valid offsite backup before trying.

Glad to see the issue has been resolved and thank you for updating the threat with your solution. As @cobaltit mentioned you should consider upgrading your OS to Stretch to avoid any compatibility issues.
