Hi extended colleagues,

Im struggling to get my head around creating an AI Prompt for a receptionist and wondered if you'd be kind enough to share yours (Omitting sensitive details of course) and what the function is for.

Really, I want to get a feel of how its supposed to be structured cos I think im just doing it wrong with my attempts lol

Doesnt help that im in an environment that requires my attention a lot when im trying to focus :p

Mostly im struggling to figure out how the 3CX tools fit in and where these variables are pulled from.

all feedback welcome!

have a good weekend.

In addition to the guides on prompt editing, perhaps this blog and tech dog will be of use:

Now, it might be easier to get human :) help if you can be a little more specific, from the default prompts, what is it that you wish to change? What exactly is not working?
I've had interactions with customers who are using external AI services and having calls forwarded from 3CX to them.

at the moment I think some use cases would be to:

- Screen every call, hand off to person best suited (based on complexity of a job) for example.
I imagine for this I would just use topics and send to whoever.

- Take calls OOO and gather information to pass on.
Does the AI Agent know its OOO? Could I route it to whoever during Office hours and do something else OOO?

Im going to ask little by little as I dont want to try too much at once and fluster myself o_O

Hi, yep those two tasks can be handled more or less out of the box.

A repository of people's custom prompts would be really cool to see. But I also understand that folks might have a lot of time and/or money invested into making them, and as such, would like to keep them private.

I've got a client going all in on the AI receptionist and they're wrapping up testing now. Just the default 3cx template with some very minor tweaks is doing everything they wanted.

Someone else posted a language translator template and that works surprisingly well too. I know just enough Spanish to be barely useful and it translates almost perfectly.

Play around with making templates. You literally just tell it what you want it to do by typing it out. And, you can also drop the stock template into your favorite AI helper like Chat GPT, Gemini, etc, and it can assist in adjusting the template to do what you want.

It's really fun to play with! I see this being quite useful for many clients.
