Hi

I'd like to alias internal numbers to external numbers - for example, dialling "666" would route to the local taxi company.

Is this something 3CX can do?

We have created extensions for this. You can set the Forwarding options for all calls on the Available status to "Forward to a number" and key in the external number. Then, change the delay from 20 seconds down to 1 second.

We have also used the Mobile number field and set it to Forward to Mobile so the destination number only needs to be entered once.

Hi,

You can use Outbound rules to achieve this.

If you create a rule with the prefix of 666 and a length of 3 you can then strip the 3 digits and append the actual number you want to dialed.

I use this to divert emergency numbers such as 112, 911 and 999 to the local emergency number.

Les

If you want to divert a number which is usually used by a system extension (e.g. 999) then you'll need to ensure the system extension is assigned another number.
