Any way to edit who shows up in the dial by name directory ?

If we can't pick and choose who shows up in the dial by name directory then how can we delete the recorded name which prevents the user from being included in the directory. Most VoIP systems have a check box for the user to be included in the dial by extension or dial by name directories. I don't see that anywhere in the digit receptionist settings, user or extension settings.
