Is there a way to limit the number of callers allowed in a conference?

We have a 16SC license, but users continue to invite larger numbers to call in to conferences which swamps our PBX and prevents other calls from coming in or going out.

How do I limit the number of simultaneous callers from using x700 (conference bridge)?

Thanks,

You can't really. I mean you could try and get creative to scope a trunk for the conference DID to limit the max calls on that but that would only restrict external callers. You'll need to educate your users or buy a bigger license. I can lend you a stick for the first option or sell you a license for the second! :)

Limit the licence is the only way I am aware, and I say that with a little humor since most resellers who mis-spec a system will always fall short when it comes to audio conferencing.

At present there is no way to limit Audio Conference numbers.

Alternatively with the recent update to Web Meeting you could utilize the Dial-In feature which allows users to call in to a Webmeeting, this (at this stage) does not utilize your 16SC concurrent calls, only your Web Meeting numbers. (It isn't an ideal solution and would require additional training of your staff, but it is an alternative).

Apologies, more information has been presented and the Dial-In feature does use your SC's. https://www.3cx.com/community/threa...to-your-next-3cx-webmeeting.62071/post-260412
