Hi

I have a strange issue with transfers of calls. When doing a blind transfer, the recipient phone gets the call and it appears as if the external party has rung them, however, when doing an attended transfer there is no notification to signal to the recipient that the transfer was successful. The phone display shows that they are still in a call with the extension performing the transfer after they have completed it, and crucially not with the external party.

The 3CX Windows client shows the caller update as I would expect to see it but not all of our users are running the Windows client and I need the phones themselves to update.

I have set up a Fanvil X3S handset with just the SIP account (no provisioning) and this works perfectly fine, so it must be something in 3CX that is causing the behaviour on the phones.

I have looked at the below thread which has been marked as "solved" so I cannot post a reply (hence the new post) as the "fix" doesn't work:

https://www.3cx.com/community/threads/attended-transfer-issues-fanvil-x5s.56866/

I am running the latest release of 3CX (15.5.15502.6) and the latest supported firmware for Fanvil (2.4.0.5572), even though newer releases have been made by Fanvil and my phones are arriving with 2.6.0.5850 pre-installed on them. I am using the default provisioning template for Fanvil provided in 3CX.

To summarise, this is what I would like to happen when users perform an attended transfer:

- External party calls in (number XYZ)
- Extension A picks up the call
- External party requests to speak with the user at extension B
- Extension A initiates a transfer request to extension B and confirms that they are happy to take the call
- Extension A completes the transfer by pressing XFER and putting the handset down
- Extension B's display updates to show XYZ rather than extension A

It is the last step that is not happening, so extension B doesn't know that the transfer has been completed and they are now speaking with XYZ until a verbal prompt is made by the external party (usually a confused "hello?").

STUN provisioning by any chance?

If so try ticking the "PBX delivers audio" setting.

Hi Matthalion

We are experiencing the same problem as you with our Fanvil X3G. We tried the suggestion by Lee but this has not worked for us.

Did you ever figure it out?

Thanks
Mark Donne

You should ignore my suggestion above - it was stupid. In fact I'm wondering if I meant it as a reply to another thread...

However, if the person transferring the call simply hangs up instead of pressing XFER what happens?

Haha, appreciate the honesty but there are no stupid answers, only wrong ones ;)

We just tried to transfer and then hang up as you suggested but the user that was trying to do the transfer still had the call on hold on their phone.

Any other ideas?

Check that the phone is configured for blind (rather than attended) transfer?

Other than that I'm out of ideas (stupid or otherwise :D).

3CX provisioning really messes up Fanvil attended transfer, I hope this gets sorted as we've had to adjust the template for a simple hang up to transfer.

Speak with Fanvil, their support is pretty good and will help you adjust the template, although obviously a little time difference.

Have you enabled replace header and reinvites settings on the extension? - That does it for the phones where we experience this issue
