Solved Auto SSL renewal with static IP change

Hi,

I have restored 3CX from a snapshot image in Digital Ocean VPS.

The system is working absolutely fine, apart from the SSL renewal.

As far as the forum posting searched, it seems the FQDN.3CX.xx will attempt the renew the SSL certificate to the new IP, but it seems it is not doing so.

Please note the screenshot attached.

Request immediate help from the 3CX forum members.

SSL certificates are not assigned to IP address but fqdn.

How old was the snapshot, and was the ssl certificate renewed after the snapshot was taken.

Does the fqdn resolve to the IP address of the 3CX server, if not you could try changing your wan ip address to dynamic for force the FQDN to update its IP address

The snapshot was 3 months old.

Yes, FQDN has resolved the IP, and it is showing in the 3CX admin panel properly.

Shifting to dynamic IP, using the stun server option should be good it seems.

I will update you the result shortly.

I see your SSL certificate has expired 11 days ago, and the normal process of renewing it would have not taken place as you have restored a 3 month old snapshot.

You may have to raise a support ticket, or contact 3CX customer services.

Please note that certificate renewals happen over night. I would recommend letting the PBX run tonight so it can go through the renewal process and see if that works. Then we can take it from there.

Thank you for your reply. Yes, I have read in one of the forum posts, that it renews overnight. Will observe the happenings for the next 72 hours.

I have already updated it to dynamic IP in 3CX network settings, in admin panel.
