all,
After wrestling a long time with my 9650 and 9620 phones I seem to be at a stage where it is working, short summary;
Avaya 2.6.12 firmware, 2008R2 server, no Vlan's
Issues I had were;
- every second call attempt was wrong; solved by leaving the password of the extension in the 3cx server empty (not a real solution i will have to admit, bu to be continued)
- no audio now and then; the reserved reg key change on windows server 2008/2012 will NOT work, I had to apply a non-mainstream fix from MS (article attached) and that did it
- contacts are still not working, so will work if I can connect it to exchange or work around with dummy backup files
- language pack outside English not working: I had to put and extra reference to an other language pack before and after the LP i want to use. (see in bold below)
The config file
SET DNSSRVR 192.168.200.8
SET SIP_CONTROLLER_LIST 192.168.200.9:5060;transport=tcp
SET CONFIG_SERVER 192.168.200.9
SET SIPPROXYSRVR 192.168.200.9
SET SIPDOMAIN 3cx.xxx.xxxx
SET REGISTERWAIT "900"
SET SPEAKERSTAT "2"
SET PHNNUMOFSA "3"
SET ENABLE_AVAYA_ENVIRONMENT 0
SET SIPPORT 5060
SET DSTOFFSET 1
SET GMTOFFSET +1:00
SET DSTSTART 2SunMar2L
SET DSTSTOP 1SunNov2L
SET SNTPSRVR 85.255.214.66
SET DISPLAY_NAME_NUMBER 1
SET SCREENSAVERON 15
SET BAKLIGHTOFF 10
SET LANGUAGES Mlf_German.xml,Mlf_Dutch.xml,Mlf_Italian.xml
SET SYSTEM_LANGUAGE Mlf_Dutch.xml
SET ENABLE_PRESENCE 0
SET SIMULTANEOUS_REGISTRATIONS 1
SET ENABLE_G711U 1
SET COUNTRY "USA"
SET PSTN_VM_NUM "999"
I have tried Grandstream, Cisco and various others, that were (way) easier to configure, but you still can not beat the appearance and feel of an Avaya
next task will be to create a template file for 3CX, wish me luck
