Hi,

I have a client that is considering migrating to a 3CX system and would like to reuse their Avaya handsets, however most of them are the non G variant (9608, rather than 9608G).

Has anybody had success setting these up? Are there any additional limitations compared to the G models?

There is an old thread here: https://www.3cx.com/community/threads/avaya-phone.58422/#post-244347 asking about it, but it doesn't have any replies.

Thanks,
Elliot

Grab a phone and test and bill them for the time. I know nothing about the Avaya phones and I would probably turn away a customer that wanted to re-use them but standard nomenclature would indicate the only difference is 100M vs 1000M ports on the phone. But even if someone said yes I'd still test myself so you may as well just bite the bullet and test it yourself.

If Avaya's IP phones think like Yealink, the difference between G and non-G isn't that important. But on the supported part, for Yealink there is both G and S series and for Avaya there is only G series

Our phone provider doesn't tell anything except gigabit ports diffenrence.

As @Saqqara says, that can be a good argument to convince the customer :p
