Solved Change SBC IP Address

We are working on our first deployment using an SBC at the client location. I'm wanting to pre-install the SBC on a Debian micro-server and pre-provision the phones prior to going on-site to deploy them.

If I change the static LAN IP on the SBC device once I get on-site, will the phones pick this up somehow once they get DHCP? Or once they are provisioned they only look for the SBC set in the Phone Provisioning tab of the Extensions menu?

Is it easier to install Debian and wait until I'm on-site to install the SBC and provision the phones?

I think overall it would be easier to do this, as installing the SBC is a very quick process anyway. I used to do a similar thing with the Raspi SBC variants - pre install with a local DHCP address on the Pi offisite and then deploy with SBC pre-loaded.

With this method I got mixed results to be honest so I think your above option is the safest bet.

Tied myself in knots last time I tried this.

Would have been much faster just to do fresh install than edit the config files (and mess them up...).

If you do the SBC fixed IP at your lab, you should make sure its the same IP that you will use in production floor.

Ended up just dropping the system in and setting a static IP in the Debian OS then installing the SBC software on-site (since it only takes a few minutes). Works great if you don't know what IP you'll use on-site.
