Hi - I don't know if anyone can help, but I am using 3CX v16 via the web client. When I click on the option in the blue rectangle at the top-left of the 3CX webclient to Install 3CX Browser Extension, it now opens the Chrome web store at the 3CX Click2Call extension for v18. If I search the Chrome web store, I do not find any results for the v16 Chrome extension. This is a bit of a problem because we have several hundred users that still use this and also many customers. Is anyone able to shed any light on this? Ideally we would like to continue to use v16 for a bit longer until we have migrated all systems to v18.

We also have this problem. The extension was overwritten by the Click2Call plugin.

Same problem here.

Same thing here. 50 people under Mac that can no longer use 3CX. What a way to start the morning...

I have the same issue with several clients! Suddenly, the extension was overwritten by another extension for V18 and customers started calling me asking why the extension stopped working!

Did someone forget about 3CX V16, or did someone simply not care?

Yes, seems the browserextension is removed from the Chrome extension store.

Pop-up not working anymore, only Click-2-Call indeen.

Found why
https://www.3cx.com/blog/releases/v18-update2/
In a recent update of Chrome and Mac, users are now notified of incoming calls allowing them to accept or reject a call. This obsoletes the need for the old extension with the incoming call buttons. Further improvements to both Chrome and our Web Client should obsolete the need for the separate extension for Mac and Linux users. However if you want to install the old extension you can install it from here for: Chrome or Edge. Go to the Web Client and click the red notification banner. The extension will be automatically provisioned. Disable the old extension otherwise it will not work properly.

Note: The Click2Call extension is not compatible with v16, you will have to upgrade to v18 to be able to use it. Also note that Google will retire the old extension by June 2022.

Went something wrong I think...

When we bought 3CX PERPETUAL license, it used to mean that we could use it PERPETUALLY. Only a few years later, we are forgotten by 3CX personel, once they don't allow to buy only the update license, and also try to force us to migrate to a monthly paid plan.

It a shame that this is happenning now. If you want to force everyone to V18, you have to offer a way for old clients (the ones who arrived here first, believing in 3cx pottential and helping to build and finance a better 3cx) to upgrade together, without oblying them to migrate to a montlhy plan.

It seems that v16 users don't have any option, other than use desktop phones only.

Shame 3CX, shame....

Seriously, I highly doubt that replacing a browser extension with a completely different function is compliant with Google's web store policies. I'm tempted to report abuse.

To hopefully clear this up a bit, as per the blog post published on the 14th of October, the V16 Browser extension has automatically been replaced with the new ClickToCall only extension due to the fact that it used Google API functions that will be deprecated.

That said, we recommend upgrading to 3CX v18 and installing the new 3CX Desktop app if what you need is an independent dialer as was the case with the old browser extension.

For Mac and Linux(desktop) users using the webclient, you can use the links provided in the blog post for now which are for a separate browser extension: https://www.3cx.com/blog/releases/v18-update2/

Here they are:
Chrome: https://chrome.google.com/webstore/detail/3cx/dijllljhgnommpcoogbfcnadmnleeook
Edge: https://microsoftedge.microsoft.com/addons/detail/3cx/lafpllgjihmojhhmcppfofdbfnbccjfc

Edge browser still works for me, but the Chrome changes last night broke it.

Why is it not possible to publish a link with the old extension as a stop gap?

If the browser extension will be discontinued in June 2022 will we get a desktop Mac client by then ?

That seems to be the general idea but we still don't have an ETA for it.
