The final release for Version 18 Update 2 is now available to download and upgrade via the management console.
Global search bar re-visited
With the release of Update 2, the global search facility has been re-introduced to search across company, CRM, MS 365 or your personal contacts. By default, personal contacts are hidden but can be displayed using the new toggle option.
Fine tuning Teams integration
Our Teams integration has seen improvements to the initial set up by adding validation checks for the specified FQDN, certificate/private key and generated PowerShell scripts. We’ve also made it possible for a Teams call to be transferred to other 3CX or Teams users. And we’ve added support for SIP forking.
Fixes and improvements
- Added the option to enable sorting of people by extension number in Desktop App & Web Client.
- Improved incoming call display to show the full name, including DID/CID and Queue Name in Desktop App & Web Client.
New Click2Call Extension - Requires Windows App
Simultaneously we are updating the 3CX Click2Call Browser Extension for Chrome and Edge to work directly with the new Windows Desktop App that ships with v18. Currently the extension still has an integrated dialpad. Upon upgrading to v18 users are however notified to install the new Windows desktop app so we assume most users have done this by now.
In a recent update of Chrome and Mac, users are now notified of incoming calls allowing them to accept or reject a call. This obsoletes the need for the old extension with the incoming call buttons. Further improvements to both Chrome and our Web Client should obsolete the need for the separate extension for Mac and Linux users. However if you want to install the old extension you can install it from here for: Chrome or Edge. Go to the Web Client and click the red notification banner. The extension will be automatically provisioned. Disable the old extension otherwise it will not work properly.
Note: The Click2Call extension is not compatible with v16, you will have to upgrade to v18 to be able to use it. Also note that Google will retire the old extension by June 2022.

Click on “Updates” in the Management Console’s Dashboard, select “v18 Update 2 Final” and click on “Download Selected” to install this update on your PBX.
