Please can somebody tell me if our existing handsets would be compatible with a 3CX IP PBX?

Currently we have:

CISCO IP PHONE 7940 SERIES
CISCO IP PHONE 7960 SERIES
CISCO IP PHONE 7912 SERIES

Cisco can have a SIP firmware load, or not. If it is SIP, then there is a good chance it will work. Some are easier to configure than others. Do a search of the forum using the specific model numbers (one at a time).

You first have to get the SIP firmware for the phones. For the 7940 and 7960 this should be readily available. For the 7941 and 7961 you will need a Cisco support contract to get it. Once you've flashed the phones over to SIP firmware, you can follow these instructions:

Also, you may want to try the v12 alpha and take a look at the phone templates.
