Cluttered Event Log

I have a cluttered event log making it quite difficult to see what's actually wrong when troubleshooting another issue.



None of those are valid extensions in the first place.



How do I remove or otherwise filter out the nonsense?

These are simply system extensions that register on boot. Ignore them.

Those are system extensions, and may be an indication of other issues, that you are unaware of. I don't believe there is a way to filter them, as they are legitimate logs, and not "nonsense" .

One poster says to ignore them, another says they're real problems. sigh


As it's just a demo system, should I export the config, blow the server away and start over... or should I engage support on this... or can someone lead me down a better path to figure it out on my own?

Who said they were "real problems"? I said that they may be in indication of other issues. It all depends how often they are happening , and if they coincide with actual issues you are experiencing. If they only occur when the system restarts, then there is probably nothing to worry about. If they are happening every few minutes, then that's not normal.

They are indeed happening every few minutes.

If those happen every few minutes and you aren't doing something to make it so (restarting services, firewall checks, etc) then you have an issue. Otherwise, as others have already mentioned, you should only see those at service start when those system extensions register.

If there is another issue, you should probably post a question on that subject, ideally the thing you are actually trying to solve.

The extensions you see there are indeed real, the system has various internal extensions that function as components for enabling features. You can see most of them by clicking here:


I would speculate what you are observing is probably a side-effect of that other issue you are facing. Why not start a new thread on that matter and see if we can provide some assistance?
