Good evening everyone
I have a customer who just switched to hosted by 3CX PBX with few IP phones and an SBC software
Now I got told that with the old on-prem PBX they could open the door from the phones with a combination of keys.
I checked with the electrician and apparently the interface of the doorphone is this:
https://catalogo.bticino.it/BTI-346833-IT (I don't think there is an english PDF, let me know if I need to translate anything)
The customer is in a building so multiple indoor doorphones linked to the outdoor one
Did anyone work with this type of interface? After hours of searh I still don't know how to integrate it to the new system

Thanks in advance for your help!
P.

Hi Paolo,

This is unknown - but I will explain how it works in 3CX with supported doorphones like the ones from Grandstream, Favnil, etc.

The doorphone is a SIP endpoint, and it also has a relay control on it. When the doorphone makes a SIP call to a 3CX extension you can send a DTMF code to it, and it can be programmed to activate a relay.

The relay terminals are then connected to an electric door actuator, so when the doorphone completes the circuit, the door opens.

I don't know if you can do it on the existing system, you may need to buy additional hardware to make it work.

Hi John
Thanks for your explanation
So I need either to give an IP to that device in some way or change the internal doorphone I suppose
The relay/actuator part should already be in place or it won't open with the old system

It might help if you first find out how the old system triggered the door. That would be a good starting point.

Hi Paolo

Not familiar with that inteface but looks to be a simple relay module, thats not the actual device used to talk at the door.

If you know the door open code and its not working, try adjusting the dtmf types. Failing that get an approved unit installed, they're not expensive
