CRM integration for unsupported CRM's

Hello everyone,
I have a VTiger 7.4 opensource CRM setup. When I tried to integrate the CRM with my 3CX, it shows that it is not supported. I tried to install this VTiger API module but when I try manual authentication it shows me a 500 HTTP error: https://github.com/sardoj/VTRestfulAPI
As I've been reading in integrating unsupported CRMs, it shows that the CRM server needs to have an API, yet i can't find anything on how to add one properly that supports calls as well.
Anyone else had this problem or similar? Any way to fix the problem or integrate the CRM through any other mean, like some other API integration?
Before anything else, I wanna apologize for not being a pro in this aspect so I need a bit more instructions than the average user perhaps to understand where I'm going wrong!

In 3CX v18 we use the new REST API provided by Vtiger, which is not available in the Community Edition. We do this because Vtiger told us that the old web service API (used in the Community Edition) will be deprecated and we needed to move to the new API in order to stay compliant.

So, if you need to integrate with the Community Edition, the easiest way is taking the template from 3CX v16, and edit it to make it compatible with v18 (basically, generating the EntityId and EntityType outputs in the contact lookup and contact creation scenarios). Here another user has uploaded the template for 3CX v16, which you can use as a starting point:
